Advance Praise for Parenting Book by Gregory Bland

Advance Praise for Pro-Active Parent Coaching Book by Gregory Bland

Greg has responded once again to speak into a great need in society. Already a proven church leadership coaching specialist Greg now addresses a most paramount aspect of human society—the responsibility of parenting well! His underlying premise is captured in the sub-title of this book, “Capturing the Heart of Your Child”. Parents must set a priority to positively impact ‘their’ child’s heart in spite of the many pulls and pressures of contemporary society. This need is underscored in the book of Proverbs (2:10) “For wisdom will enter your HEART, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.”(NIV)

“Pro-Active Parent Coaching: Capturing the Heart of Your Child” will be an incredibly valuable source of relevant stories, wise biblical principles, relational suggestions and stimulating assignments, all of which will assist you as a parent to capture and impact the heart of your child. Your journey with this book will assist greatly as you make the truth in Psalm 37:31 a reality, “The law of their God is in their hearts; their feet do not slip.” May your child’s heart be yours and may you be well grounded in his/her heart! Enjoy the rewarding expedition!

Having the privilege of spending time with Greg, Lynn and their children and knowing them well, I have seen the principles of Pro-Active Parent Coaching at work first hand in their family. Through everyday life, to major decisions faced together, the practices of Pro-Active Parent Coaching are fundamental to the healthy dynamic they enjoy. Greg’s passion for healthy relationships within the family is the heartbeat behind his practical approach and real life examples. I highly recommend ‘Pro-Active Parent Coaching: Capturing the Heart of Your Child’ for parents of all ages who desire to have a close and lasting relationship with their children, and who want to be an active part of seeing their children/youth, journey into responsible adulthood and embrace the destiny God has for them.
Sarabeth Strathdee, Children & Youth Pastor

I feel very privileged to be part of the process of seeing this book come to life. As I have read and reread the concepts of this book, I can’t help but be changed in my attitudes and awareness of how I am interacting and responding to my own teenaged child. It is a gift from God that is right now helping to shape our conversations in the midst of some very serious, life altering decisions. I am realizing how crucial my supportive questions are to the health and direction of my daughter’s choices and actions. It’s not the easiest course I have taken, but it is by far the most effective.
Connie delaMorandiere, 1 teen, 2 young adults

Greg provides tremendous insight to the fact that children are not seeking independence from their parents’ as we sometimes think, but rather from our limiting parenting style! This is a significant breakthrough concept for parenting. Greg’s practical advice makes connecting with your child realistic and attainable. This book is backed with biblical insights that will save and strengthen your relationship. A must read for all parents no matter the age of your child.
Nick & Michelle Allaire, 2 children

I believe that this is a much-needed book that can be used by parents to help their children discover their unique calling and gifts. It seeks to develop and cultivate change where it must begin – in the heart of the child, no matter what age they may be. It reminds us that God is at work in our children and has given us the great privilege of working with him to help our children discover a life of significance and purpose.”
Mitchell Foley, Pastor Atlantic Baptist Association, father of 2 children

This is a marvellous tool for parents that I wish I had read when my children were young. As a mother of two adult sons, and with a background in social work/psychology, I had come some ways toward this approach to parenting (as opposed to the child-rearing practices of my parents’ generation), but I could certainly have benefitted from the clear guidelines Greg gives us in the coaching model. I feel this will be a blessing to any family where these principles are applied!
